So we put our heads together to come up with our best ever offer to help you “get your sweat on”!
Starting now, any educator who wants to join at Jane’s gym will have no sign-up fee, and first month free (with checking info). Additionally your membership will be FREE every June, July, and August (and yes, for every summer you’re with us, not just the first year)!
In this day and age, one of our biggest challenges is how to manage our weight. But, as a subset of this, ladies have even more unique challenges. Stress and responsibilities, combined with a cultural emphasis on body image, put a sometimes unreasonable amount of pressure on us to be “practically perfect in every way” 🙂
This program addresses the science behind the foods we eat, and how they affect us. But it also addresses some of the psychology behind our nutritional habits, and perhaps gives us help on how to improve them. Topics include: psychology of weight loss, how metabolism affects our weight loss, what role exercise plays, the practical side of shopping, and more.
2019 saw our 3rd annual “New Year New You” competition.
As usual our members took to heart the goal of challenging themselves, and motivating and encouraging those around them!
Nonheated Level 1 is designed specifically for the new yogi. An easy to understand introduction to fundamental yoga poses with modifications and options for all levels. A warm up helps get the body moving in all directions. Modified or full sun salutations followed by dynamic strengthening and stretching poses make up the work phase of the class. Our yoga classes always end with 5-10 minutes of restorative final relaxation.
Nonheated (Vinyasa/Flow) Yoga incorporates breath with movement for a mentally and physically beneficial and energizing class. Warm up, sun salutations and dynamic poses flow together to build internal heat as you strengthen and stretch. Each class is unique and set to different types of music. Modifications may be given for beginners. Some advanced poses may be offered as well. All levels welcome.
Hot Yoga (Level 2 Flow) is a slightly faster paced class offering new layers to challenge an existing yoga practice. Learn arm balances, inversions and breath work to grow at your own pace in a safe environment. The room is heated with our new radiant heat panels to between 95-99 degrees. Some yoga experience is recommended. Be ready to sweat!
Jane’s Gym is proud to be the first gym in the Midsouth to get the new Les Mills Smart Bars 2.0!
As you know, Jane’s Gym supports a variety of causes related to girls and women. Pam’s PATCH is no exception. PATCH is a local group for young women in need of mentoring. Their hands-on program engages young minds through community involvement. Girls meet monthly to learn healthy eating, exercise and hygiene, organizational skills, and how to carry themselves with confidence! These young women take what they learn back to their homes and communities throughout the Midsouth while also donating their time to events such as feeding the homeless in the community.
Its official. Jane’s Gym offers Les Mills programming! Super exciting, right? Wait. What? You don’t know what Les Mills programs are? Oh, you’re in for a treat!
Les Mills International is a fitness company based out of New Zealand but has quickly become the number one fitness program in the world. Yes, the WORLD! Les Mills International says “We’re on a mission to create a fitter planet. This doesn’t mean making people work out. It means helping people fall in love with fitness so that they want to work out.” Don’t you just love that? If we can help you WANT to come to the gym, wouldn’t that win most of the battle for you in your fitness journey?
We are so proud of how hard all of our trainers work and the dedication they show to Jane’s Gym and our members. They must be doing something right, because Desoto County and the Mid-South is noticing them too! Here’s some of the recent highlights of just a few of our amazing trainers:
Jane’s Gym is excited to be the first in the MidSouth to offer Pound class. Chelsea, Beth, Sarah, and Leigh are official certified Pound Pro’s and can’t wait to bring the Rockout Workout to all our members. POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music!
